Fruit Cocktail With Prawns

Fruit Cocktail With Prawns

1 tin fruit cocktail (drains and retains the syrup)
100g prawns
4 tbsp mayonnaises
2 tbsp syrup (from fruit cocktail)

Method:
1. Drains the fruit cocktail, retain the syrup and chill the cocktail.
2. Boil prawns in a pot of hot water, do not over cook the prawns.
3. Remove the shell, cut prawns into half and remove the veins.
4. Add in the prawns, mayonnaises and syrup. Mix well and chill.

About Me Again

Things about me, like and dislike, and here it's goes…

 

1. I'm a 100% female. LOL

2. I'm approaching 30 soon, however I always felt like I'm been trap in 45-year-old body.

3. I'm extremely temperamental. Easily flare up especially the weather is extremely hot.

4. I'm addicted to caffeine. Coffee and coca-cola coke u name it.

5. I love to eat and EAT!

6. I love to bake and cook, however I hate washing.

7. I like to attempt new things like foods I never bake or cook before, sadly my attempt always a failure. LOL

8. My vocabulary suck, I can't write or speak well.

9. I speak Cantonese, Mandarin and improperly English.

10. I get impulsive sometime, I might get to straightforward and hurt peoples feeling.

11. I'm anti social, a homely and dull person.

12. Occasionally I 'm quite absent-minded and inconsiderate.

13. I'm semi liberal and can be real petty too. After all we're females and that our right. LOL

14. I can't hide my expression, like or dislike it written on my face.

15. I hate shopping, I won't shop unless there's things to buy.

16. Even thought I hate shopping but I do enjoy shopping in supermarket.

17. I hate people who are arrogant, think so highly of themselves.

18. I welcome criticisms but not assuming.

19. I hate peoples who can't keep their promises.

20. I hate been control.

21. Hubby thinks I'm hard to please and demanding.

22. I can be quite unreasonable, deliberately pick fight with others.

23. I can be quite stubborn too.

24. My favorite radio station Class95.

25. I listen to oldies from 80's 90's.

26. I hate peoples who keep repeating.

27. I hate peoples who come close to me, as like they know me very well.

28. I can't tolerate peoples who take advantage of me, and treat me like sucker.

29. I'm 100% genuine to my friends but I don't expect them returns 100% to me probably 99% is enough. LOL :P

30. I hate been accuse things that I've never done.

31.I dare to admit things that I've done.

32. I think the world is so unfair to the females.

33. I hate men's gives name to the women's like slut, bitch and prostitute.

34. I hate men's who treats women's like dirt or sex machine.

35. I hate men's who shown no respect to the women's.

36. I can't tolerate kids wasn't behave in public and the parents wasn't give a bloody damn.

Putu Piring (Tutu Kueh)

Putu Piring (TuTu Kueh)
Makes about 13.

Ingredients:
2 cups rice flour
3/4 tsp salt
150ml + 2tbsp hot water
1/2 cup coconut without skin, grated
1/2 cup gula melaka, grated
Pandan leaves, cut into squares

Method:
1. Dry roast rice flour for 1 minute. Sift and leave it to cool.
2. Mix the salt in hot water and sprinkle over the rice flour.
Rub the water into the flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3. Lightly grease a Putu Piring mould. Fill half the container with the prepared flour. Top with 1 - 2 tsp gula melaka and cover with more flour. Place a small piece of pandan leaf over it.
4. Steam for 10 - 20 minutes. Serve with grated coconut if desired.

Japanese Cheesecake

Japanese Cheesecake

Ingredients:
250g Philadephia cream cheese
50g butter
100ml fresh milk

60g superfine flour
20g cornflour
6 egg yolks
1 tbsp lemon juice
¼ tsp salt

6 egg whites
¼ tsp cream of tartar
140g fine granulated sugar

Method:
1. Melt cream cheese, butter and milk in a double boiler.
2. Cool the mixture.
3. Fold in the flours, egg yolks, lemon juice and mix well.
4. Whisk egg white with cream of tartar until foamy.
5. Add in the sugar and whisk until soft peaks form.
6. Pour into a 8" round cake pan (lightly grease and line the bottom and sides of the pan with greaseproof paper).
7. Bake cheese cake in a water bath for 1 hrs 10 mins or until set or golden brown at 160C.

Black Sesame Paste

Black Sesame Paste

 

Ingredients

200g black sesame seeds

1500ml water

180g castor sugar

2 tbsp corn flour

 

Method

  1. Wash black sesame seeds and drip dry before dry roasting them in a wok till fragrant.
  2. Put sesame seeds in a blender and add water before blending to achieve a paste consistency.
  3. Pour the paste into a pot and add sugar before cooking.
  4. Bring to a simmer. Mix the corn flour with a little water to get cornstarch which will thicken the black sesame paste.
  5. Serve.

For a smoother paste you may pass the paste through a fine sieve before cooking.

Beancurd Skin With Gingko Nuts & Egg

I'm using this brand of beancurd sheets to make this dessert. So far only this brand of beancurd able to cook until it become so soft and dissolved in the water. I bought this brand of beancurd sheets at a Chinese medical hall.

 

Make this Cantonese dessert Beancurd skin with gingko nuts & egg. Can’t get any quail eggs so I replace it with egg. Sometime get too lazy just cook it with beancurd skin with egg. Good for the skins. I got no exact measurement for this recipe.

 

Ingredients:

Pearl Barleys

Gingko Nuts (can substitute use canned gingko nuts, but I still prefer those fresh ones.)

Beancurd Sheets (gently crush)

Rock Sugar

Water

Some cooked quail eggs (optional)

 

Method:

1. Boil the water and cook the barley and gingko nuts for about 25 mins to 30 mins.

2. Add in the beancurd and rock sugar cook beancurd until it almost dissolved.

3. Serve with quail egg (optional).
